Let the dream come true
(2005)
Here's the interior of Rincewind's room, including Luggage sleeping on his wardrobe.
In each Pratchett-book I always hope that Rincewind does some serious magic
- which he funnily always does, but not knowingly. This scene came into
my mind when I finished reading The Light Fantastic and started
Sourcery... didn't Rincewind mention that he planned to enrol at
Unseen University again and try to pass his finals this time? Didn't he want
to learn some spells now that the Octavo's Eighth Spell has left his head? Just
wondering. In Sourcery we can witness that he obviously didn't...
or that at least he wasn't very successful. But if he really studied... it must
have looked like this... and I liked the idea of Rincewind trying to force knowledge
into his tired head and fighting for his dream to become a wizard so much. Give
him a chance, I say!
