She's going to be rescued soon, don't be afraid. This scene from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, or What You Will is more or less imaginary, since we never really see Viola while still in the sea. I had the idea for this picture after seeing Twelfth Night for the very first time in English (which was lovely, by the way! I had already seen the play several times in German, but the English original is simply unrivalled.) and since it's my favourite Shakespeare, I thought "Why not?". ;) A very serious illustration for a comedy, but I like it. =)
